In a major decision that could benefit thousands of students pursuing PhD and M. Phil , the University Grants Commission has asked universities across the country to adopt new academic reforms. With implementation of it, a student enrolled in Bhagalpur university will be able to join a course in the country's most prestigious universities JNU and Mumbai universities.
Nine Bhagalpur Students have come out with flying colours in the
Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMD) conducted by Bihar Mathematical
Socienty (BMS) and sponsored by National Board for Higher Mathemetics. Out of 31 successful students whose names figure in the RMO 2008
examination (South Bihar Region), nine students belong to Bhagalpur
while rest are from Patna, Darbhanga and other districts.
Finally, the decades old demand of Bhagalpur residents turned in to reality on 29th December when the wheels of newly introduced direct train to South India Bhagalpur-Yashvantpur Express started chugging out of Bhagalpur Jn. after union minister for railways Lalu Prasad flagged off the train in a programme held at Bhagalpur railway station.
