In another major breakthrough, Bihar Police claimed to have arrested two maoists suspected to have been involved in an attack on a Bihar Military Camp at Akbarnagar barely few kilometres away from the Silk City headquarter. The ultras were arrested from a house at Paharpur - Kharagpur village in the neighbouring Munger district.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a house at Paharpur-Kharagpur village
and arrested the ultras.
They were suspected to haven been involved in the daring
attack on a BMP camp at Akbarnagar in neighbouring Bhagalpur
district on Sunday, the police said.
The naxalites had looted four SLRs, two machine guns,
hand grenades, besides several rounds of ammunition during the
operation. Four BMP jawans were also injured in the attack.
Over hundred Maoists swooped down on the BMP camp near Chanan river in Akbarnagar, sprayed bullets and injured four personnel guarding it.
The Maoists looted four self loading rifles, two machine guns, some ammunition and two grenades, police said, adding they fled in the dark after the brief attack.
Two injured police personnel were admitted to Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College and Hospital where their condition was stated to be serious, they said.
The other two were referred to Patna Medical College Hospital.
A combing operation has been launched in the area to nab the ultras, police said.
