In a brazen display of no respect for the law of the land, as many as five persons including a former village head were gunned down and their bodies were put on fire by by spraying petrol and kerosene on the vehicle the former village head was travelling in near Kolahadih village under Banka district. However, reason behind the deadly act has not been confirmed yet but it is reported to be due to old enmity.

In a first of its kind in Bihar, a crude bomb went off in a mini bus plying on the Bariarpur -Jamui route in Munger and Jamui districts under the Ang region leaving as many as twelve bus passengers injured and four of them, who were reported critically injured, were admitted to Jamui sadar hospital.
